If you ever had questions about the Stations of the Cross and how they applied to your daily life, then this course is for you!
Jesus Stations of the Cross
Many people are familiar with the story of Jesus and his journey on the road to Calvary. For Christians, it’s the most important journey ever taken and the foundation of the faith. The time of Lent and Easter is paramount to the Christian doctrine.
Some may not know or understand that the stations – a pictorial representation of each major step from Jesus being condemned to his entombment – have meaning beyond the story of the journey. These meanings apply to our daily lives; helping guide us to act as Jesus – in a righteous manner within society.

A beautiful spiritual devotional in English and Spanish! A great way to make holy your Lent!
This afternoon I’d gone to visit my dear family friend, Virgina “Virg” Romero. We’d reminisced about old memories and current ways of the world. Virgina is an amazing woman filled with love, wisdom and humor. And she’s an amazing inspiration as well. At nearly 85 years of age, she’s my oldest Facebook friend!
During the visit, we’d sat at the kitchen table, exchanged pan dulce and cherry empanadas, and had listened to songs on YouTube together. She had shared with me that she’d loved Rancheras so we had looked up a few artists on YouTube.
Virg knew my mother and father and had watched all of us Rodriguez kids grow up into adults. We’d known her family; kids and grandkids, too. We’d eaten at her family restaurant. And she’d made food at my parents’ wakes.
What I’d loved the most had probably been that she believed in family, faith, and tradition as much as I did – and do! She has always held her family and her God so close to her heart, it had gone without saying. And her old-time hospitality hadn’t skipped a beat.
I’d so enjoyed listening to her stories as she’d told me things about her kids and grandkids and how much she’d loved her family. Though she’d felt a little like a bother at times, she’d said she had appreciated their help and support so much.
And she’d reminisced about her husband whom she’d love so much – and missed even more. She’d loved to read and share about family and friends. And what a sense of humor! This woman has a whit that is second to none! I’d often looked for her Facebook posts knowing that they would likely be uplifting or just darned funny!
In those few hours we’d spent together, I’d been made even more aware of the importance of spending time with our community elders. They hold stories and traditions and passions which can’t be duplicated. They share legacies that when they pass, the histories pass with them. And they hold the truest values of faith and family with them which in and of itself appears to be a dying art in our current society. So let’s appreciate the wisdom of our elders and bring it forth so that future generations never lose our inheritance.
(Also, please pray for my friend Virgina as she is feeling under the weather so please sent prayers.)
You are never alone! Seek and you shall always find!
